Subject & Predicate.

There are two parts to each sentence.
They are SUBJECT PART and PREDICATE PART. SUBJECT means about whom the sentence is talking, PREDICATE stands for Action. There are many small parts to these two parts. These small parts are represented individually.
Each of these parts has a definite function in the Word. Words are named as a part of the language because of the work they do. These are divided into eight language parts.
Parts of speech:
1) NOUN
2) PRONOUN
3)VERB
4) ADJECTIVE
5) ADVERB
6) PREPOSITION
7) CONJUNCTION
8) INTERJECTION

EXAMPLE
Murty is a publisher
He publishes useful books
The Students buy them
The teachers like them.

It should be noted that the first (underlined) part of the above verses is the SUBJECT section and the second part is the PREDICATE section. Thus SUBJECT means either NOUN or PRONOUN. There may be other words besides them. Or may not be. PREDICATE stands for VERB. It may also include SUBJECT, COMPLEMENT, ADVERB.
