All about Nouns.

KINDS OF NOUNS:

There are five types of nouns:
1. Proper nouns 
2. Common nouns 
3. Material nouns
4. Collective nouns  
5. Abstract nouns.  

Common Noun :

The names given by us to a class of persons, places, and things are called Common Nouns. Articles should be used before common nouns.

Eg : man, animal, bird, insect, mountain, city etc.

*Common Nouns can be divided into two types. 
1) Countable Nouns
2) Uncountable Nouns

Countable Nouns: (à°²ెà°•్à°•ింపదగిà°¨ à°¨ామవాà°šà°•à°®ుà°²ు)
Eg: man, woman, boy, city, box, pen etc.
Uncountable Nouns: Innumerable nouns. (à°²ెà°•్à°•ింà°ª à°µీà°²ుà°²ేà°¨ి à°¨ామవాà°šà°•à°®ుà°²ు.)
Eg : rice, sugar, oil, gold, water etc.

Proper Noun: 

A particular name assigned to a person, place and thing is called proper Noun.
(Or)
Proper Noun is the unique name of a person, animal, object or place. 
Articles should not be used before proper Nouns.

 Ex: Charan, Sravya, Bengaluru, Gold, Charminar, Himalayas, Godavari etc.

 Note: All Proper Nouns should begin with a capital letter.

Collective Noun:

The name of a group of persons or objects of the same kind as a unit is called a Collective Noun. Collective Noun should be used before articles that specify certain people or objects as one. 
 Eg: family, nation, team, government, federation, jury, army, crowd, mob, parliament, cattle, herd, people, class, flock, bunch etc.
Some words denoting collection :
An army of soldiers
A board of directors
A basket of fruits
A bevy of girls
A bench of judges
A bunch of keys
A bundle of sticks
Not in separate parts but in masses, paste, or liquid form Material Nouns.
Eg: water, milk, oil, iron, sand, rice, sugar etc.

Abstract Noun :

Abstract Noun is the name of a quality, state or concept.



Quality: goodness, whiteness, ability, strength, weakness, kindness etc.

State: youth, childhood, boyhood, death, slavery etc.

Concept: hatred, fear, thought, sight etc. 
Abstract Nouns are chiefly formed from

1) Adjectives: 
wise- wisdom
idle- idleness
ii) Verbs:
see- sight
think- thought
iii) Nouns:
thief- theft
friend- friendship.

i. Adjectives - Noun Form (Abstract Nouns)
happy, à°¸ంà°¤ోà°·à°•à°°à°®ైà°¨ - happiness, à°¸ంà°¤ోà°·à°®ు
proud, à°—à°°్à°µం à°—à°² - pride, à°—à°°్వము
beautiful, à°…ందమైà°¨ - beauty, à°…ందము
real, à°µాà°¸్తవమైà°¨ - reality, à°µాà°¸్తవిà°•à°¤
strong, బలమైà°¨ - strength, బలము

ii) Verbs - noun form:
know - knowledge 
live - life
Think- thought
Grow - growth
Decide - decision.

Noun(Common Noun) - Noun Form (Abstract Noun):
child(à°ªిà°²్లపిà°²్లవాà°¡ు) - childhood (à°¬ాà°²్యము)
mother - motherhood (à°®ాà°¤ృà°¤్వము)
coward (à°ªిà°°ిà°•ిà°µాà°¡ు)- cowardice, à°ªిà°°ిà°•ితనము
patriot (à°¦ేà°¶à°­à°•్à°¤ుà°¡ు) - patriotism (à°¦ేà°¶à°­à°•్à°¤ి)
hero (à°¶ూà°°ుà°¡ు) - heroism (à°¶ూà°°à°¤్వము)
